Good day beauties,

I’ll be doing review on the 3 of Beauty Treats Palettes that I’ve purchased, and they will all be done in 3 different blog posts.

My first review will be on the Beauty Treats Matte Blush Palette, and this is one post that’s long overdue lol. For those of you who don’t know, this brand “Beauty Treats” are the most cheapest affordable makeup you’ll ever find and they are actually pretty damn good. You guys know by now that I’m a cheapie, and if I find affordable makeup for super cheap I’m definitely taking it.

About The Brand:

“Our mission is to offer customers quality makeup at affordable prices.  Our cosmetics are fun, unique and fashionable. Beauty Treats strives to be different from mass market brands. We are continuously developing a wide-array of innovative cosmetics and creative packaging that suit all ages and skin types”.

When I first saw this product I thought it was absolutely cute and I’m have this huge obsession with makeup palettes, so whenever I see one, I need to have it. This is not my first  product from Beauty Treats, I have purchased other palettes and I must say I haven’t been disappointed.

This Matte Blush Palette comes in 6 beautiful shades from light, bright to dark. The pigmentation and smoothness of this product is amazing and it will work well with any skin tone. But when applying this product please ensure that you knock off any excess from your brush as this product is extremely pigmented. If you looking to purchase a blush palette I highly recommend you give this a try, its super affordable and you won’t be disappointed!

Now that’s Spring is here and Summer just around the corner, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite nail colours for this season.

Now I’m more for nudes and deep rich colours because I feel it compliments my skin tone more, but  every now and them, especially summer time I like to go bold.

These are my must have colours:

Essie is one of the greatest, they have a huge variety of nail colours . Their nail colours always apply very smoothly however, the downfall with Essie is that they don’t last very long, so within 3 days you can expect them to start cracking.

From the left: Mint Candy, Watermelon, BBF Best Boyfriend & Cute as a Button

I absolutely love this colour! It’s called Berry Special, it’s a pastel purple shade and would go well with any skin tone.  This colour you can worn all year round, it’s not too dark or too bright, it’s the perfect shade of purple. It reminds me of candy lol.

Berry Special

Mr Price Cosmetics:

I came across this nail colour in the accessories department in Mr Price, and I’m a sucker for teal nail colours so I had to take it. It’s a great colour however, you need to apply atleast four coats to actually get it all smooth and even, otherwise it would just be patchy. This nail colour does last quiet long, like a week and a few days without cracking but it all depends on how often you work with water.

Now this colour last 2 weeks without cracking and I’m sure it would last even longer if I wasn’t always working with water lol. You only need to apply one coat, it dries super fast and the formula is so smooth. I absolutely love this nail colour.

Hello beauties,

Today’s post is just a quick review post on the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact – Bronze. If you know me well you would know that I can’t resist a shimmer highlighter or bronzers.

According to Bobbi Brown:

What it is: This shimmering, brush on powder creates a deep bronzy glow

Why it’s different: Handmade in Italy, this compact features superfine pigments that reflect radiance and light

My thoughts:

This bronzer shimmer brick is multi-purpose, designed  to be worn both on the cheeks and on they eye. It’s made up of 5 strips of gorgeous shimmering colours that can be used individually or swirled together for a soft glow. The bronze shimmer brick contains a pale gold, a champagne pink, a warm bronze, a rose gold and a deep coppery bronze. They are very pigmented and blend out beautifully. These aren’t chalky, powdery or patchy, so they apply seamlessly. There’s nothing worse than a chalky highlighter that applies patchy to the skin. This shimmer brick also last on your skin for quite some time and does not fade off, so your skin continuously looks luminous and fresh. This Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick is a Beauty.

This shimmer brick is very pricey but really worth every penny. I love using the bottom 3 shades for a dramatic contour. This shimmer brick just gives you that gorgeous soft glow making your skin look younger.

This is a 10/10 for me, it would work well with any skin tone and it’s a definite must have product.

10 Coconut Oil Hacks

10 Coconut Oil Hacks

Coconut oil has become one of my biggest obsession lately that I’ve doing so much research on it and found so many diy uses for it. Coconut oil is so versatile and has a lot of benefits.

Here are 10 ways to use coconut oil.

  • Deep conditioning hair treatment:

Rub some coconut oil between your hands, then apply it to your ends and work your way up. Once done comb through your hair and tie your hair into a bun and wash out in hour. Coconut oil restores dry and damaged hair, making it silky smooth an soft.

  • Makeup Remover:

Coconut oil is great for removing makeup around the eye area as it won’t irritate your eyes and it will give extra hydration to your skin and prevent wrinkles! All you do is apply some coconut oil to a cotton ball or makeup remover pad and gently remove the makeup around your eyes.

  • Body Scrub:

Coconut oil can be used to make your own body scrub and all you need to do is mix some coconut oil with brown sugar to reveal smoother skin.

  • Shaving Gel:

Coconut oil will help prevent ingrown hairs and razors burn, all you do is apply the coconut oil to your skin, shave an pat dry and it will leave your skin feeling smooth.

  • Homemade Face Mask:

Whip up some coconut oil and honey for a hydrating, antibacterial face mask. Leave on for 15 minutes, and then rinse.

  • Teeth Whitener:

Use coconut oil as a natural toothpaste. Mix a bit of coconut oil with baking soda to make an all natural whitening toothpaste.

Coconut oil helps with sunburn. So apply some coconut oil to sooth your sunburn and moisturize your skin.

Coconut oils helps with dry cracked lips. Dap a Q-Tip into some coconut oil and apply to your lips for smooth, soft lips.

Create a detox bath with coconut oil by adding ¼ cup of Epsom salts with a ¼ cup of coconut oil into a hot bath.

Tresemme is one brand that I’m very crazy about, so whenever they have new products I’m always excited to try them out. I’m very picky when it comes to hair product because I have oily hair therefore, I need to use products that won’t leave my hair looking like a grease pan.

I’ve been using Tresemme’s hair products for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those product’s that gives your hair that healthy shine, but not too much, that it ends up looking and feeling oily, and it also makes your hair incredibly soft and smooth. Tresemme is one of my top five hair products.

The shampoo and conditioner come’s in a sturdy plastic bottles with flip top caps. The shampoo comes in a red bottle and the conditioner in a white one, which makes it very easy to differentiate between the two. The consistency of this shampoo and conditioner is perfect as it is neither runny or too thick. When applying the shampoo it lathers nicely, smells clean and fresh. I like that, after washing and conditioning my hair, how soft and smooth it feels, it’s even better after blowing drying my hair.

This range promises to leave your hair frizz free for up 48 hours however, I can’t confirm that because I wash my hair everyday and my hair doesn’t really frizz. Overall Tresemme is one of the best brands out there and this range is absolutely great! It really makes your hair incredibly smooth and manageable.

10/ 10 for this product!

Yay or Nay – Avon Multi Bronzing Stick

I’ve bought lot’s of products from Avon in the pass and they have products that are great and some that I think are not great at all.

Sometime in the beginning of the year I went through one of the Avon catalogs and the bronzing multi stick caught my eye, at first I was very hesitant to purchase the product, because I really did not want to waste my money on something that wasn’t going to work. I eventually gave in after debating with myself on whether or not I should purchase it.

When I finally got the bronzing stick I was so dumbstruck at how tiny this bronzing stick was. Initially I thought it was big, so you can imagine my disappointment because I paid R79.00 for this tiny little bronzing stick. (I’m a cheapie, lol)

Despite my disappointment with size of the bronzing stick I decide to give it a try, and honestly I don’t think that it should be called a bronzing stick because, A) the colour is completely wrong. B) I would say it’s more of a cream blush than a bronzer.

This bronzing stick comes in 2 shades nude and sunny. I have nude but it does not look nude at all, it’s more of a blush pink colour. Personally I think that this product sucks as bronzer but work well as a cream blush. When applying this as a blush I make use of stippling brush because I think it works well when using cream products. I like that it gives a fresh glowing look but it doesn’t last long, so for the max 5 hours and then you need to touch it up.

I personally think that this bronzing multi stick is nothing special and not worth purchasing, and I bought it when it was on special for 79.00 but the original price is R144.90, which is ridiculous because you can get something way better for less than that.

This Multi Bronzing Stick from Avon is a definite no for me.

Review: Smashbox Limitless Liquid Pen Liner

Hello my beauties,

For those of you who don’t know I’m an eyeliner junkie. I’ve been using eyeliner since primary school so my life would be incomplete without my eyeliners. Over the years I’ve used various of eyeliner from liquid, gel, pen to even kajal so I’ve used them all. For the past 3 years I’ve only been using the L.A Girl gel eyeliner, it’s one of my top favourite gel eyeliners and they are super affordable but that’s a blog post I’ll do another time lol.

I’ve been using the Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen for the past week, and honestly it’s quite good.

This liner is smudge and water proof. Once it sets it’s not easy to get off and it will last all day and night. This liner pen is perfect for creating a very thin line, but you can easily create a thicker line if you want. This pen is very pigmented and easy to use however, pen liners usually dry out very quickly and doesn’t last very long but I’m hoping that won’t happen anytime soon, because this baby is quite pricey. Overall it’s a great liner but like I said it’s pricey and I’m more for the gel liner. If you don’t mind spending R320 for a liquid pen liner then by all means I would recommend you purchase this liner however, there are other brands with good liners for cheaper eg: Essence Cosmetics, L.A. Girl & Catrice Cosmetics, just to name a few.

Smashbox Limitless Liquid Pen Liner is one of the great liners out there but they aren’t cheap. If you looking for something worth spending lots of money on, that’s waterproof and won’t smudge then you should definitely purchase this bad boy!

Hello my beauties 🙂

The time is finally here were I get to do my review on the Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara. I’m obsessed with long full lashes so mascara is one thing I can’t go without, strangely I was never one to wear mascara in the pass and now I can’t live without it. My natural lashes have the length but they lack in the curl department which sucks because that’s what I really want, but then I found Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara :).

What Smashbox says:

When it comes to lashes, our L.A. photo studio needs low-maintenance and high-drama. We created this all-in-1 mascara with a unique applicator that has a brush on one side and a comb on the other to bring you long, full, clump-free lashes in seconds. Rich pigments bind to lashes for an ultra-intense look. Be totally photo-fabulous—on camera and off!

My Thoughts:

One of the great mascara’s out there.  I like that it gave my lashes more of a curl even though I had to apply 3 coats to actually get the curl, it also gave volume and length to my lashes. The mascara goes on easily and evenly. The unique comb like brush is perfect for separating lashes. The only downside of this mascara is that the formula is dry so it could clump if you apply too many coats but overall it’s a very good mascara. Definitely go and try this out! I don’t remember what the actual price was but you can just pop in at any Smashbox counter and get one of these gorgeous mascara’s. However, if you feel that you don’t want to spend too much money on mascara you not sure will work for you, I suggest you asked the consultants at Smashbox for a sample or tester to try before purchasing the product. This is one product you will definitely love!

Garnier: Oil Control Complete – Deep Clean Face Wash.

To me skin care is absolutely important and you have to ensure that your skin is healthy, moisturized and fresh. I’m always wearing makeup so it’s very important that I take care of my skin, and I’m very picky when it comes to skin care products therefore I only make use certain brands.I rarely try new because I’m terrified my skin might breakout.

Like everyone else I have good days and bad days, some days my skin is good other days it’s bad. My skin is always changing, usually I’m combination skin but sometimes it can be very oil or very dry. I’m a huge fan of Garnier’s products, from BB creams, moisturizers, face wash, deodorant to hair colour I use them all. Therefore I’ll be doing a quick review post on one of the Garnier products I absolutely love!

Garnier: Oil Control Complete – Deep Clean Face Wash.

About: If you have normal to oil skin, if your skin is prone to imperfections or shine. This face wash offers effective cleansing without exfoliating granules.

How it works: It’s anti-bacterial formula, enriched with pore purifying agents and zinc, has a dual action.

  1. Cleansing: it unclogs pores and helps protect against imperfections by gently washing away excess oil that cause spots and blemishes.
  2. Shine Free: it purifies and helps tighten pores, leaving the skin looking clean and shine free.

What I think: This product helps alot especially in my T-zone area where I tend to get oily. For the first few couple of days I didn’t see any results, but a week later I immediately started to see results. This products makes your skin feel clean and fresh, it also has a nice clean refreshing scent which is always good. I definitely recommend this product if you have oily skin because it worked wonders for me especially and it’s great during the hot summer days when your skin becomes even more oily. This is a must have!

Epilating is an amazing way to shave but not shave, it’s a great alternative to shaving.

Now that Spring is finally here and Summer just around the corner, it’s time for our legs to stop hibernating and we all know what that’s time to shave those hairy legs (lol).

About a year ago I heard my friend constantly talking about epilating her legs an underarms and how soft and smooth it made her skin. After I heard this, I was so intrigued because I’m one of those people who has problems when it comes to shaving my underarm and I hate taking a razor to my skin, because after a while it makes your underarm dark or there’s stubble so I’d rather wax and we all know just how painful waxing can be.

I finally decided that an epilator is something I would like to try since my friend can’t stop raving about it. I went to clicks in canal walk and they had a variety of epilators which made it difficult for me to choose one, but luckily for me I had my better half with me so he could help me make up my mind. I decided to go with the Veet Ultimate Bikini Epilator, this is an electrical hair removal device consisting of multiple spinning tweezers. This device pulls the hair out from the root and you can use it on your bikini line, legs, arms, underarm and even for facial hair.

The first time I used the epilator it hurt like hell! But once you get use to it, it doesn’t hurt that much anymore (if you ever get use to the pain lol). The epilator reduces hair growth and it leaves your skin soft and smooth for long (up to 6 weeks). I’m currently only using it on my underarms, legs and upper lip and so far I love it and it works for me. I’m currently thinking of investing in another epilator, something bigger with more tweezers but hopefully one that’s not so painful. This particular epilator only cost R250.00 at clicks and it’s the Veet Ultimate Bikini Epilator but there are others that are more pricey.

Left: Changeable heads. Right: Epilator with charger

What you need to know before epilating:

  • Firstly it hurts like hell the first time you epilate but once you get use to it, it doesn’t hurt as much and if you have done waxing before then it probably won’t hurt as bad.  I suggest that you take a tweezer and just pluck around the areas you plan to epilator just to get use to the feeling, but remember that with a tweezer you can control the hairs you pulling out as where the epilator pulls out multiple hairs all at once.
  • Before epilating take a nice hot bath/shower and exfoliate the areas you want to epilate so that it can prevent ingrown hairs.
  •  Before epilating use a pre-epilating spray to help make epilating more comfortable. If you do not have an epilating spray you can always pat a little baby powder to the area you epilating, it works just as well

So if you’re tired of shaving, tired of wasting money on waxing and don’t mind a little pain to get rid of unwanted hairs, I suggest that you invest in an epilator. Trust me you won’t be sorry 🙂
